Avoiding formatting changes when moving documents between computer
I am currently tasked with producing a large (500+ page) software manual
using Word 2000 on Windows XP SP2. The finished document will need to be
converted into a full-featured PDF using Adobe Acrobat before being sent out

spacing for Word 2007
I am a relatively new user of subject software. When opening Word, I get the
standard "blank" page. So, I tried typing a sample text and then "entering"
to see where the cursor went for the 2nd line. It double spaces. I tried to
get the cursor to only single space by using the buttons at the top and also
consulting the "Help" section.

Mail Merge
I created a mail merge to print envelopes using the B6 envelope size (5X7).
When the envelopes print it is defaulting to a #10 envelope size. I cannot
change it in the printer properties, and it won't print properly. I am using
a HP 2600N printer. A merge at # 10 envelope size works properly. How can I
utilize the 5X7 envelope size?

Send document as body of email
Word '07, Outlook '07 on WinXP
restarting a question posed back in August 2007 with responses by Doug and
Tony.
Has any new inforamtion surfaced on activating the send document to email as
body text which work so well and flawlessly in earlier versions of Wordâ„¢.
I read with vigor Doug's sugesetion to add Send to mail recipient to the
QAT, and quickly added as recommended, however...

My Places Bar
In the folder tree for drive C, there are several folders that cannot be
opened, and a "Access denied" message pops up. Is there a way for these
folders to be opened, or, if not, can they be safely deleted? These folders

number of decimal characters
I'm using combination of correspondence (in word), and using only two
decimals after the point (in excel), but when I combine this shett in the
word document, then appears 20 digits after decimal point. I tried to format
with the numeric image field modifier ( \# ) but it does not work. What to do

Problem printing page1 in Word 2007
I have Office 2007 on my workstation running Win/XP Pro SP2.
I have a word 2007 document 20 pages long. The cover page is page 1.
I have adjusted the footer for page 1 so I don't get a page number
printed on page 1. All other pages get the page number printed.
I can easily print the entire document including the cover page (page
1) if I want to. The problem is that I can't print just ...

MS Downloads trash word cursor control -known issue but n
ON AT LEAST SEVEN tuesday nights Microsoft has pushed one or more downloads
that break cursor control in office 2007 products (hp, vista, synaptic
touchpad) and cause word to abnormal terminal and restart when launched. this
has happened at least 7 time since starting this summer. It is a known issue.

networking on Vista
Hi,
I have a new PC running Vista and two laptops running XP Pro. They are all
on a wireless home network. I am able to share printer and can view shared
files between the two XP machines but the Vista machine cannot find one of
the laptops and will not share files with either laptops. I changed the
default workgroup on vista to match Xp workgroup of mshome. Help!!

EMBED
I was working on my homework when my dog jumped up on my desk and next thing
you know it all my fractions on my work are now in brackets that says EMBED.
I tried for hours and finally found that highlighting individaul brackets
and hitting F9 turned them back into the fractions. But all my other
Documents are like that as well. It is going to take a long time to go
through all of them and...

Resizing a small picture is extremely SLOW (Word 2007)
Hi,
I have Word 2003 and Word 2007 installed on two different Windows XP
machines. If I resize a picture both Word 2003 and Word 2007 behave
the same i.e. You grab the corner of the image with the mouse and
either drag it out to expand, or drag it in to make smaller. (A dotted

Autocaption Numbering
Autocaptions with tables or figures are copied and pasted within the same
document and edited to retain the style applied. However, autonumbering of
captions does not happen automatically. One must remember to select the
caption and then update. This works well if you use "CTL A" feature to select
and update all at once. Is there a way around this?

Courier New character/space alignment
I created a form in a previous version of Word. The form is used for
creating print and screen layouts for RPG programming. The font I am using
is Courier New. Each line has a field with a specific number of characters
allowed (80, 132, or 198). I have lines of numbers across the top of the
