Why no Out of office assistant
I would like to automatically reply to emails while I am out of the office.
There is no out of office assistant option when I go to tools menu from the
mail view.
Is there a way to turn on out of office assistant even though I cannot see it?
If not, is there a way I can automatically repy to emails while I am out of
the office?...

Open Messag in Inbox and lose message
When I open the email from the inbox and then "X" out of the message, it
normally remained in the inbox until I deleted it, now when I "X" out of the
email it disappears, not in the deleted files...Gone....Help....

Rule to receive only email to me in inbox?
Hi, I have Outlook 2007 and McAfee with the spam killer turned on. But I
still get lots of spam coming into the inbox. Frequently the spam mail will
use my business's domain name but with a random set of letters before the @
sign. What's the best way please of setting a rule in Outlook that only
allows emails addressed to myname@mydomainname to come into my inbox? Thanks
for any help...

i get 'unknown error 0x8004060c'
everytime i hit the send receive button i get 'unknown error 0x8004060c'
message on the progress report and i'm not getting my e-mails, i sent out a
message to a co-worker and she got it fine, but i can't receive any. And
now i keep getting the message even though i'm not hitting the send/receive
button...

I can't read Outlook 2007 documents in Outlook 2003.
I have Outlook 2003 (11.8217.8221)SP3 with all the updates I can find.
Still, when I receive a message created in Outlook 2007 (or Office 2007), it
does not format correctly. That is, embedded pictures are not displayed, and
tables do not format correctly. Is there any way, short of upgrading to 2007
that I can read the 2007 messages??...

Outlook looking for PST file
I archived a file a few months ago and evidently did something wrong. The
PST created when I archived is very small and I suppose empty. The problem
is that the file always has today’s date (as in the same date as the
Outlook.pst file) on it even though it was created months ago. After I
deleted it, Outlook (version 2002) now gives me an error message that it
can’t find that file....

Color Flags vs Color Categories (OL2003 migrating to 2007)
I'm working on migrating to Outlook 2007, but one of my favorite features
from OL2003, colored flags has disappeared to be replaced by color
categories, and I'm trying to figure out how to get the same kind of easy
functionality back.
In OL2003 I use colors to indicate priority level, red means get done before
the end of the day, blue is important but I have a couple of days to get it

Day and week display?
Outlook 2007
In the day and week views is there a way to only show busy times? By this I
mean that if the only thing I have scheduled for a day is an 8 PM
appointment it will not show up in the day or week initial view unless I
scroll down because the display is showing all of the empty time slots
first. I would like the display to show the 8 PM appt. first because it is

Outlook 2007 Email is not sending, all notes remain in Outbox?
Since yesterday, all of my sent emails are sitting in my Outbox. I am using
Outlook 2007 on Windows Vista Home Premium. The only change that has
occurred since yesterday is the security updates from Windows were installed:

Can not move to personal folder
I am using Office 2003. When I try to move, drag any email that is on the
Exchange server to my Personal folder nothing happens. At times it will
place a copy of the email in the Personal folder but the original message
remains on the server. And any same day messages will let me move them; but

Blank white rectangular space in the upper right hand of outlook
I am suddenly seeing a blank rectangular space maybe 2" across in the upper
right hand corner of some of my opened emails. It covers the closing and

Attachment shows in message header, but not on printed copy
When viewing a sent message, the attachments are listed in the e-mail message
header next to "Attachments". However, when the message is printed,
"Attachments" (together with the list of documents) are not displayed. How
do I change the setting to include this in the printed copy?...

com add-ins
When I tried to add cpaoaddin.dll, nothing happens. I went to Tools, Trust
Center, Add-ins, Manage, COM Add-ins, Go, tic the box and navigateed to and
selected "cpaoaddin.dll" in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12.
Calendar Printing Assistant add-in did not appear on the Add-Ins available
list. I am running on a 64 bit machine.

Closing secondary PST file
Hi,
I am running MS Outlook 2003 on XP.
I am getting the error: The operation failed. An object cannot be found.
I have no access to this PST but I am unable to CLOSE it.

Changing Search Defaults
When I search a folder in Outlook (2003), it does not search the most recent
emails first. Can I change my default settings to do this? I know I can do
a date search with advanced find, but that gets really cumbersome.

Resource hog
My system had been running slowly and I opened task manager and found that
Outlook was taking up 95-100% of the CPU usage for the full time it was open.
I wouldn't have a problem with this for short periods of time, but expect
the System Idle Process to be showing these types of numbers most of the
time. How do I investigate this further?...

Archive file
I made an archive file, copied it to an external drive for safekeeping and
then re-installed my operating system including MS Office. When I try to open
the archive file an error message tells me it is not a personal files folder.
The file is archive.pst. Is there any way for me to get this file open?...
