0x8004010f error on standalone desktop
I have searched and previous query involved an exchange server.
I am a nerd.
I'm trying to get BCM working, new computer lots of RAM and HD, and when I
click in Contacts to go to Bus Contacts this is the first error msg that pops
up. I'm trying to fix one thing at a time with the hope that something done
right will eliminate the successive popups.

Cannot import ACT data
When I try to import data into BCM 2003 from ACT 2005, there is a message
ACT! must be installed to use this adapter.
ACT is installed and running on this computer. Is there a way around this
problem? Also, when I have imported the data, how do I share a calendar with
another user (in an SBS 2003 environment)? Thanks.

BCM database on SQL Server 2000
Hello. We are investigating using BCM for some of our sales people. We would
like to have the BCM database setup on our existing SQL Server 2000. When I
setup the BCM client (Outlook 2007 with BCM) it asks if I want to connect to
an existing database, which can be on another computer, but there is no
option to create the database on a remote server. Is this possible? If so,

Opportunities - SALES STAGE
I want to edit the list for SALES STAGE on the General page of an Opportunity
to add my own named "Closed No Bid" and when I select it, have it operate the
same as "Closed Won" or "Closed Lost" - i.e. CLOSES the opportunity. At the
moment, if I add the new status, it acts like the other SALES STAGE options

Errors Converting and Importing ACT 8.0 to BCM
I have been trying to import my ACT 8.0 database into BCM and have
encountered two scenario. There are about 8300 contacts in the ACT database
and many user-defined fields.
1) When I tried to import only Contact records, but all subcategories i.e.

BCM instal on longhorn server ?!?
Hi,
I had to re-install a server. First I made a 2003 and upgrade to longhorn.
Install office 2007 and BMC (and connect it to sql2005). All was working.
I had to re-install the server, and strat directly to install longhorn Beta3.
Installation was a sharme ... till I try to install BCM; No way !
BMC, installed MDSE (why to do that as there is SQL2005 installed ... please

Business Contact Manager
I have Office Pro 2007 installed.
I thought that BCM was included.
I can find it as installed and inactive, and when I reinstalled Office, it
didn't appear to be a choice there either.
Can it be downloaded somewhere?

Suggestions requested to avoid corrupting the BCM db
I am openly soliciting input of any and all expert "best practices" that can
be employed to avoid corrupting data in the BCM SQL express. 2 times in the
past 2 weeks I have been unable to do db maintenance (defrag & check for
errors) due to an error message that states "Errors were found that cannot be

sending a distribution list error mes "one or more parameters not
Just upgraded to 2007 professional office. When sending a distribution list
I recieved an error "cannon send as one or more parameters not met" though
the send folder says it was sent, have recieved it into a test box, but a
previous send of the dist. list last week to qualified clients produced no

New install of BCM 2007 fails to set up Offline Database
Hello there, I am a long time user of BCM and have about 1900 active contacts
and over 200 active pursuits. I recently moved the database to a central
W2003 box and connect to it over the LAN from several boxes, including 1

SQL service won't start...Can't find database.
During BCM setup, I get the following error message:
"Business Contact Manager Could not find the database you are looking for..."
Set up then asks if I want it to create a new database, and I answer "yes".
After trying, Set Up is unable to create a new data base.
The sql MSSMLBIZ service is "starting" but never "started" like all the
other services.

Outlook 2007
Why can't I enter Outlook 2007 BCM. I think I finally got all of 2003 BCM out
of the system but each time I run the install it tells me that it failed to
install. I am also having problems with Accounting express 2007. It tells me
that it didn't register right and I cannot update it to professional. Can
someone help me please.

Marketing Campaign Email Account
There is no choice when sending a marketing campaign out as to choose which
email account you want to use. it seems to be using the default account. Am I

SQL DESKTOP NOT CONFIGURED(?)
I am a dummy.
I chose all the defaults when loading BCM.
The SQL icon on my taskbar says "not connected." I assume this is the root
of my issues within Outlook.
I have no idea of what to do.

Stall when importing ACT 9 Database
I am trying to import an ACT 9 database of 1052 contacts into BCM 2007, I get
through setting up the import and when it starts it gets to contact 455 and
then just stops there and the program stops responding. I tried going into
the ACT database and deleting contact number 455 and then importing but it
