Opportunity -> Project
What's the best way to turn an opportunity into a project. So much
information aobut the project is tied to the opportunity that I expected a
menu or button that says, "Close the opportunity, we got it, it's now a
project." Since I don't see that and can't find any help about it I'm
guessing MS doesn't see us using BCM this way. Any suggestions?...

How do I print address labels from Outlook Contacts?
I know how to mail merge Outlook Contacts to a new document, but when I get
to the end of that phase (document has printed with merged address) how do I
print the address label, may be Avery, may be somebody else's, a label I can
peel off and stick to a large yellow envelope?

How I hate BCM!
I have BCM 2003 v2 and am migrating to Entourage after an unsuccessful
attempt to make heads or tails of BCM. I can't even get my history out. I've
listed my laundry list here before so I won't repeat it. But I just really
need to say that this is quite possibly the worst program I have ever
encountered in ways too numerous to mention....

why while sharing tasks the person I am sending the task to cannot neither
accepting or denying it. as a matter of fact she cannot even open it!...

Can I send a contact from outlook to my CardScan program?
I just got a program called CardScan Executive and trying to syncronize them
is confusing at times. Trial and error I guess. Does anyone know how to send
a contact from Outlook to CardScan? Maybe it can't even be done....

Sharing customized forms
Can I share a customized BCM Contact form I created? I have succeeded in
having it be my default New Bus Contact form.
I am interested in sharing this with other computers (not in my network) but
can't locate the template area which holds it to "save" this new form to so
it opens as their default New Bus Contact form.
Any suggestions?
I have tried saving it in various locations...

BCM Profile
How do I combine two profiles into one that has all of the email accounts,
contact records, calendars and BCM options. I have one profile, newly
created by my company IT department for my company email, that does not show
any of the BCM features. I have an old profile that has all calendars, only
one email account, but all of the BCM features. I am tired on logging in and

BCM Backup or Export
Which is better to use, backup or export?
Does one save more info than the other (like categories?)
or does it not make a difference which to use?
Exporting seems to take a lot longer than backup, probably because it is not
being compressed?

New Database cannot be found
Hi
BCM is not working anymore!
1. What i did was that removed everything with sql server in it from
add/remove programs.
2. Then i made a new MS SQL Server installation.
3. I found the old BCM database file and attached it to my new sql
server installation.
4. Then i tried to add that database in outlook via data file
management, but no matter what i do it seems to tell me that it cann...

Office 2k3 and 2k7 users
Hi,
is possible to have both Office 2003 and Office 2007 BCM users connected to
one central database? It doesn't matter if MSDE or SQLExpress.

Can OL 2007 (with or without BCM) integrate to make or display calls using a
VOIP service? For instance, while viewing a contact simply click a phone
number to call and it dials, keeps track of time on call, and records the
event in history?

Dedicated folder for auto deletion of e-mails
It is suggested that there should be a dedicated file for e-mails which are
auto deleted. That would make it easier to find such e-mails from other
deleted mails. The name of such a file cold for instance be De-leted
Items/Auto deletion.

To-Do list
Hi
The to-do list is handy, because I can see everything that I need to do,
which can include tasks and follow-ups on contacts/accounts/opportunities.
However, I want to see in the to-do list what the name of the company is.
However, because there are different record types, ie: task vs. contact. vs
account, vs opportunity, I end up having to add 4 different columns. Is
there a way...

Mailmerge - missing fields
Hi,
Just running a mailmerge from BCM 2007 via Word 2007, through a campaign.
I am unable to map the "Title" (Mr, Mrs, etc) field from contacts in BCM
through to the mailmerge in Word. Am I missing something, or is this a
major omission / bug?
When sending formal letters I need to be able to use the form: "Mr Fred
Smith" in the address block, then "Dear Mr Smith" in the greeting l...

Cannot uninstall BCM fo Pocket PC (from Vista)
I installed BCMV3PPC.exe on Vista business. It worked ok, but now I need to
uninstall it. From control panel, it just does not uninstall correctly. It
finishes with a message saying something like, "setup wizard did not complete
successfully", and the program is still listed as a program that can be
uninstalled. Are there some special instructions for uninstalling this puppy?

Sales Invoice tracking?
Does anybody know if there's a simple way to enter sales invoice details:
date, invoice number and total for each customer and then to calculate total
sales for each year. Wouldn't mind using Access or Excel if they can be

BCM 2003 over the Internet?
I have tried sharing BCM 2003 over the Internet similarly to the way BCM 2007
works, but BCM 2003 says he can't see the remote computer (even though i can
ping it, and connect to the database with SQL Server management studio).
The database is on a server running SQL Express, created by BCM's .sql
files. Port 5356 for BCM, and posts 137-139 for NetBIOS are all opren. I have

BCM '03 -Outlook Export/BCM Import
When I export a folder of contacts from outlook, then try to import into BCM,
things get scrambled. Some of the zipcodes get extracted and into their own
files. Messy! I tried mapping and that didn't work etiher. Any help would
be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!
P.S. - Is there a 'best' way to do the export/import cleanly?...

incoming calls
if in the office on pc, would help on incoming call for the contact to pop up

Creating Custom Form in BCM
I'm trying to create a Custom Form similar to the one shown here:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb226712.aspx and not able to figure
out how to do it.
I need to create a form where I can have multi-lines for notes. All I can do
now is just a single line of entry. Then I need to be able to save it to the
History File.

Can I LINK an email to a record/contact and DELETE from inbox ?
If I link an email to a business contact or record, but then delete it from
my inbox, will I lose that email in my history? Also, will any contact with
that person automatically link or do I have to set that up somehow? I know I
can get messages to show up in my history if I am in BCM and choose "New
History Item" and select mail message. Any insight??...
