Database Admin Tool Issue When Creating Database
When trying to create a new database using the database admin tool for BCM
2007, it comes up with an error saying that it cannot find the list of SQL
server instances. I am trying to do this on MS Small Business Server 2003; MS
SQL Server 2005 is up and running and works without any issues with our other
database. Any reasons why it cannot find it?...

BCM vs ACT
We are currently looking for a contact managment tool (not for sales) and
unfortunately the Microsoft site isn't great at providing information about
the tool. Does anyone have a plus or minus on either tool? How easy does it
create mail merge lists (if I want to email the same 500 people every friday)

Email / Forward Contact Information
Hi,
when i try to email a contact information to my colleague the customized
fields do not show up in the general view as they usually do.
Is there any solution to that? When i forward the data i especially want to
forward the added fields.

Error code 799 when applying patch kb935569
I am getting a BCM version error message and have tried to down load the
recommended update: Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager (KB935569).
Unfortunately it does not install and gives me error 799. It also trys to
install when I logoff and when I check for updates using Windows Update it

Open a Contact from Word, Access or any other program
You know how you can click on an e-mail address and it will automatically
hyperlink to a new e-mail message? Well, why can't you hyperlink to a
Business Contact from a word document or Access or any other program????
Wouldn't that be great????!!!!! I will accept cash, money orders, checks or

the "to" heading names instead of addresses
I have a bunch of email accounts (hence different email addresses) for
family, my different businesses, etc. To keep them straight, I want the "to"
line in the "Inbox" folder to list the "actual incoming email address"
instead of the name that the people have in their email address book so I can
sort incoming emails by account.

Account View - Business Contacts
Account View - Business Contacts has 3 columns, 'Job Title', 'Business

ACT to BCM Questions
Thanks to all for your help to date. I read Lon's ebook last night and I
have some additional quesitons about the ACT to BCM transition. I think I
know many of the answers but I don't like them so I'm looking for other
solutions that may not exist. I have yet to purchase BCM for Dummies but

but we have some big problems finding standard features. Maybe me look at the

Missing items on the Action Menu
In a specific contact I used to have the actions>schedule appointment option.
For some reason that I cannot figure out that option has disappeared from the
menu options. Any suggestions for how to correct this?
I am running Outlook 2003 with business contact manager. I am also running
2003 on a laptop at work. The laptop has these options on the Actions menu;

You do not have a valid Microsoft Office 2007 License to use BCM
I have a customer that was running Outlook 2000. We then switch our Exchange
provider to Intermedia.net which offered us a free download of Outlook 2007
which we installed. We then purchased 3 Microsoft Office 2007 Small Business
Suites with Business Contact Manager.

Missing Ribbon Insert Tab the Task window
When I install the BCM the Insert Tab in the Task, Journal and Contact
windows disappears!!!
Is anyone else having this problem?
PS. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times to try and fix the

Any way to synch BCM with an iPaq?
Using OL2007 and BCM 2007 and an iPaq 2755 pocket PC. Is there any way I can
get my BCM contacts to synch with the pocket pc? I already synch my regular
contacts successfully. Then I decided to go to BCM. I'm wishing i didn't move
my business contacts from Contacts to BCM now since now I can no longer see
them on my pocket pc. Arggh.

Task - Back Up BCM
There is a task added to Outlook reminding me to backup Business Contact
Manager - it seems have have turned up after installing OL and BCM 2007.
Problem is, it is appearing in duplicate - i started with having two show up
for the same day, every day. Now, I'm getting 4 every day.
Am I alone on this?
and, was this task created by BCM 2007 ??

Contacts display errors
Got a new PC somtime back, since my old PC was loaded with an OEM version of
Office 2003 Pro SBE, I had to purchase a retail box of Office 2003 Pro this
