email autolinking
With Outlook and BCM 2007 and a shared database in a Windows XP Pro Workgroup
will all users of the database be able to autolink their email and files to
Business accounts and users and will those emails and files be available for
viewing to all users or only the database owner able to autolink and share
emails and files.

error 1603 - tring to install BCM
I am tring to install BCM 2007. it sets up SQL first and then it shuts down
the BCM install. At the end of the long error log it says it is a 1603 error.
Any suggestions would be helpful...

Deletions
It seem dangerously easy to click on 'delete' or 'clear' and possibly click
the wrong item with no means to recover it.
Of course, a contact record will be moved to the deleted items section of
Outlook - but what if you accidentally 'clear all categories' when in the
'account group'? There is no Edit>redo' Are these recoverable, other than
from a back up copy?

Business Contact detail linked to an Account
Hi
I have linked my Business Contact to an Account. The Account record holds
the company name and address details. When I link the Business Contact from
the Address record, the Company and Address fields are NOT automatically
populated from the Account, as I would have expected. This means that when
running a Marketing Campaign/Mail Merge for the Business Contact, there is no

Outlook 2003
Hi Community,
I have an issue with Outlook 2003. I am only receiving some emails. It seems
I am not receiving any reply emails or any forward email, in fact it seems I
am not receiving any emails that come from an Outlook account. I can receive
emails (as well as replies & forwards) sent from a webmail account.
My ISP's have never encountered the problem and have suggested I take it...

Registration OL2007 and BCM
Installed Outlook2007, fully patched it and the PC. Running XP sp3.
Installed BCM2007, then installed SP1. Open OL2007, then the wizard runs.
When it goes to the registation dialogue box, the side bar progress to the
end, then restart, it does this three times, then outlook hangs. IT seems as
though it is looking for a web site and can't find it. I did not have this
problem with OL200...

Linking multiple e-mails or othe objects
It appears that BCM only allows you to link one e-mail at a time to a record,
i.e., you cannot highlight multiple e-mails and have tem all link at once.
Am I right that this is the case? If so, should this be suggested to MS?

Problems connecting to shared dbase from Vista Home Basic machine.
Have Business Contact Manager on 3 machines. Sharing database from BCM on XP
media center machine. 2nd machine (XP home) can connect but 3rd (Vista home)
machine can't. Help says that you can't share from a Vista Home machine or
an XP home machine. Since the XP home machine can connect, I thought the
Vista home probably would too. Have the dbase shared with the right names and

In the account view, how do I keep the fields that I want to show
In accounts, I can customize the column view to show categories, but those

Can I remove Business Contact Manager without losing my mail addre
I don't need the complex system that is business contact manager or business
tools. All I need is Outlook as it was before 2003. Can I remove the tools
without fouling up my email storage and email addresses. I have not created
any contacts or accounts. It just gets in the way of so many processes
connected with mail.

MSSMLBIZ cannot start error 3417

Lately I started getting "Business Contact Manager for Outlook could not
connect to the shared database. Do you want to work offline?" error message
when I start Outlook 2007. It was OK previously and I created some entries

Select Users in Shared Database
Is there a way to actually delete a select user when trying to share a
database. I lost the remote password I set up for the user and cannot
connect them now. System will not let me try and add them again as they are
already in the select users list. I want to delete it ans start over or be
able to change the remote password. Help!!...

Shared Database
I have a domain and a pc setup with BCM. Shared the database. So far users
that are members of the domain have had no problem getting to the database. I
have one user that has Windows XP Media on a laptop. He is part of the

Script errors in Business Contact Manager 2007
I am getting IE7 script errors being reproted when loading web pages in BCM
2007. Script debugging is disabled in IE and script error reporting is

Simple Sales Tracking from External Data
Is there a way to do very simple sales tracking by account with external data
that would be entered manually?
We receive monthly sales reports from about a dozen different principals and
would like to track that data inside about 100 accounts. These are not
opportunities but hard numbers. Is there any way to accomplish this, even if

Anyone have a list of field names for contacts?
I have a massive excel file with lots of different fields and I see from
instructions that I am to create a names range of cells. So does anyone have
a list of all the field names used in Outlook Express 2003 contact records?
I will have to create some new fields, does anyone know the max size of
custom fields? The biggest one I will need is a notes field.
