BCM not able to install
I am using MS office 2003 , I am trying to install CBM , from the original
discs, I am getting an error message, I uninstalled and reinstalled, same
problem. do I need to uninstall MS office and reinstall it? ...

Office Small Bus Edition and Outlook 2003 but no Business Contact
Can't locate Business Contact Manager with my Outlook 2003. Bought Sony Vaio
with XP and Office 2003 Small Bus Edit in 2006 or early 2007. Was using
another contact manager and now want to beginusing Outlook with Bus Contact
Manager but I can't locate BCM on the machine. I was able to successfully
download "Service Pack 1". Please advise...

SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 ?
Hi,
Is there a good reason to replace SQL 2005 Express with SQL 2008 Express as
the DB for BCM 2007 ?

Problems with BCM Error message.
We have Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager on all our XP systems.
Recently however we have had to buy a new laptop and it was only available
with a Vista install. We have Vista Ultimate (32 bit version) on the laptop
and I installed SP4 of the BCM package. This allowed use of the local
database option however, about once every 4 minutes we get a pop up error
message that only say...

List Owner
In the task it lists the task owner but when I modify the history view to
show the owner the owner does not appear....

My PC Randomly Restarts - cause appears to be SQL 2005 & BCM
I have a really annoying PC problem that appears to be caused by Business
Contact Manager and Outlook 2007. With Outlook running in the background, I
could be working with Word, Excel (or any other application) when suddenly
the PC freezes and then I get the black restart screen.

Internet Faxing with Outlook 2007
I just upgraded my Outlook 2003 (xp os) to Outlook 2007 BCM. I have a
internet fax provider (myfax) and I am not able to send internet faxes now
with the new outlook 07...
I purchased the outlook from staples and currently have the trial version of
Office 2007 to try the word 2007.

BCM user rights and modifying default views
I have 2 questions I hope y'all can help me with.
1. I can't seem to modify the default views, or change which view is my
default Opportunity view. I need to add and remove a couple of fields from
the "Open Opportunities" view. I can make the changes but they are not
saved. As soon as I navigate to another screen such as Contacts and go back,

can you link up accounts with contacts in 1 go ?
I need to tie up my existing accounts with my Business contacts.Unfortunately
they have been mixed up in my database.I realise I can do this by

BCM toolbar missing on email compose
The BCM toolbar does not show up in the compose new email form. Should it not
be there? It shows up in creat an appointment, task etc. And it is there when
reading incoming mail. The only way to link to project/oportunity is to send
the email, then go back to it and link it. That can't be right....

A few questions
Hello!
1 - Reporting - When I veiw a report that is displaying numerical custom
fields, there are 2 decimal places being shown even though the field does not
include decimals.
2 - Custom views - when i add a column to a certain view, example, I add
city to a report, when I close the report and open it again that is gone. Is
there any way to save these views?

Linking More than One e-mail message at a time
Is it possible to link more than one e-mail messae to an opportunity/project
at a tme? It seems his would be a usefull feature, and I am surprised that I
have been unable to determine how to do it.

An unknown error occurred while trying to synchronize offline...

I have recently encountered a problem with one of my remote BCM users. I can
successfully connect to the BCM server (2003 R2 SP2 with SQL 2005 Standard)
from their laptop (XP SP2), but when I try to change to offline mode (for the

Manage EMail Auto linking is greyed out
We have the main database on our server and locally I have an offline
database on my laptop. When working 'Offline' the main database, menu option
'Manage EMail auto linking' is greyed out. Does anyone know why, and how I

I can not get my billable items to show up when I click the submit billable
time module? I make sure the billable button is activated on the appointment
and even submit a time entry. Even made sure the correct sales person is

calendar bug
BCM willwork great for a while andthen bug and not let me into the calendar.
Each time I have been unable to resolve the problem myself nad have had to
call a tech company to come in and fix it. Each time they have hadto repoad
the software. What a waste fo my time during the business week and a waste of
the companys money. Not to mention my frustration.
Any one have the same problem?

Reading pane failure
Somehow my 2007 outlook / buscontact mgr has lost the reading pane control.
You can use the "select reading pane" style and nothing appears. If you
select any of the three pane views, when you switch from none to another mode
the old list from "none" does not get repainted and stays there.

Creating an e-mail for Opportunity History Bar
Although Microsoft's help page says I can create a new e-mail directly from
the communications section of the history bar, I do not seem able to do this;
I an create a task, but not an email.
Any thoughts anybody?

BCM 2007 items list VERY SLOW
Imported about 1000 SKUs from my business and when I click "ADD" in the quote
generator for Opportunities it can take a whole 2 minutes or more for the
window to load up. After that, it searches fast and my sku loads up right
away, but I cant sit at my computer for a half an hour loading multiple items
for a quote. Any ideas on getting this to run faster?...
