Sorting Spreadsheet to Different Tabs
I have a spreadsheet that has rows of information, and say for example one
item in each row is the month. I would like to have tabs in my workbook for
each month, and have each row go into the tab of its respective month (but
also remain in the main spreadsheet). This is probably an easy vlookup. Any
help is greatly appreciated! I am trying to do this without any macros or

SUMIF using criteria from a list
This one seems easy but I can't figure it out.

1 Acct Amt
2 100 54
3 101 76
4 102 84
5 103 67
6 104 99
7 105 42
8 106 0
9 107 81
How can I take the total sum of accounts (for example) 102,104 & 107. So I
am looking for an answer of 84 + 99 + 81 = 264.
I will normally use around 15 - 20 accounts...

MID funtion with conditional format
i am trying to use MID function as formula in conditional format -
=MID(C9,5,1)=X
if the 5th char of cell C9 is the letter "X", then i want to apply color to
the cell as my conditional format.
can't get the formula to work.......

Date arithmetic
It's been a long time since I did any subtractions of dates, and would
much appreciate a little help please. In particular, what is the
simplest way of finding the period that's elapsed bewteen two
date/times? Of course, I would want to display it in the most common
sense format, across a wide range. Must I convert each date first,
subtract and then convert back, or can it be done in one form...

Need a formula to sort without using a macro
I have a sheet that records daily test results for one month. On any given
day there can be 1-10 entrees. Currently I have a column that we put an x in
and then I have macros recorded to sort and put them in order acording to
date. My problem is my version of excel is old enough I can not password
protect this page because I then get errors during the sort. From what I have

loop problem

I have a looping sub that takes 5 cells and every 0.2 seconds adds to their
values, dealing with one at each successive 0.2 second interval , so that by
the end of each second every cell has been visited and increased by the

Name Assigned Formula Not Working
I am using Version 2007. The following formula, when inserted manually on the
sheet, does workout but when defined in a name like "Check" and inserted as
=Check, in a cell, doesn't do so. Any particular reason and suggestion?

accidental file overwrite
Instead of "save as" I entered "save" and thus accidentally overwrote a file
in Word this afternoon. Is there a way that I can retrieve an eariler

This is a follow up for a question i asked 1 month earlier and somehow I cant

Remove Data from Empty Cells
Hi all,
How do i remove data from the cells that have been pasted as value? The
cells were originally formulas but i have copy-special-value pasted. some of
them are blank but when i do COUNT it counts. how do i remove or clear-all
hundreds of cells at once? there are also cells with the info among them.

return a value between set numbers
Hi I am trying to work out how to return a number of between 1 to 5 if a
single cell is between specific numbers. So i would like a A2 to equal 1 if
A1 is between 0 and 48 or A2 to equal 2 if A1 is between 49 and 96 or A2 to
equal 3 if A1 is between 97 and 144 or A2 to equal 4 if A1 is between 145 and
192 or A2 to equal 5 if A1 is between 193 and 240

conditional formatting time
I have a spreadsheet that calculates remaining battery time. What I am
wanting is when battery run time has less than 1/3 remaining I want that cell
to turn red.
For example:
D2 has battery run time: 40 hours
D3 is remaining battery life: 13 hours
So when D3 drops below 13.333 hours it will turn red....

Can Text Function change output text color?
Hello,
The folowing forumal is used in part of a CONCATENATE function, and
everything works great, except the code below doesn't make the text red.
=TEXT(VLOOKUP(vUtility_Company,Table4,7,FALSE),"[<=9999999][Red]###-####;[Red](###) ###-####")
Any ideas how to get the text red only in the portion above and not the
whole CONCATENATE statement?...

dates count till elapsed
On a worksheet I have a date a person has passed a course say in cell a1
The course is valid for 5 years only before a person needs to requalify
in cell a2 I want to be able to calculate the time left between cell a1 and
5 years down the line and have it counting down
does anyone know of a formula etc how I can do this

How can i use the checkbox to use a different macro when it's checked
or
unchecked? In this example: i want to copy paste from one location if
is unchecked and from a different location if is check and I uncheck
