Excel 2000 - memory could not be "read". error
I am recieving a error message while using Excel 2000 and the regression Data
Analysis tool. After recieving the error message Excel shuts down and I have
to restart the PC to run Excel again. All data is lost.
The instruction at "0x309033c5" referenced memory at "0x8bfc555b". The
memory could not be "read".

Compile error in hidden module
Hello,
I just had to rebuild my PC and ever since I have bee getting error messages
upon opening and closing Excel.
Error message on open: Compile error in hidden module: AutoExecNew
Error message on close: Compile error in hidden module: DistMon
I tried reinstalling Office (2003) and I also tried running a repair but I
still get the error. I also tried changing the security setting...

Document Recovery won't go away
Bug report??
I have two documents in Excel that are listed in my "Document Recovery"
pane. I've repeatedly selected "Show Repair", and "Close" and the next time I
open Excel they reappear.
I've located where the document recovery files are stored for Word and
deleted the document there that I was having a similar problem with but I
can't locate where the Excel documents are because ...

I have a user on my network that suddenly can not launch an Excel file by
clicking on its icon. He can open Excel and browse to the file and open it
with no problem. When trying to launch from the icon, he gets the message
"The file or one of its components is missing. Check the path and filename to

CTRL+F doesn't activate 'Find and Replace' dialog box
CTRL+F shortcut doesn't activate 'Find and Replace' dialog box. This seems
to be happening in all the office applications and I don't know if it is a
coincidence but I have only noticed this since installing IE7.
All other CTRL shortcuts seem to be working.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?...

When copying; cannot complete task with available resources
I am using Excel 2002 and I have found that excel uses its own memory. The
total memory on this pc is 1553436, and I am only using 504844. The
spreadsheet I am trying to copy is 2919K, but I cannot copy any more than 300
rows at a time. Any suggestions on how I can get around this to copy my
spreadsheets?...

Print Preview not working
I click on my Print Preview button and Excel takes me to the Print Dialog
box. The same thing occurs when I try to access the Print Preview from the
File menu. Print preview works in my Word program though.
Can anyone help direct me to where I can fix this. I already tried the
"Detect and Repair " feature...

Audit commands acting strange/ not working (Excel 2002)
For no apparent reason, suddenly my Audit / Trace Precedents and Trace
Dependents commands no longer work properly, whether invoked from the menu or
from the auditing toolbar.
When I try to trace precedents (from a cell which has precedents, of
course), the blue tracer line doesn't appear -- unless I type an = sign in
the cell whose precedents I'm trying to trace, as though I were about...

Compatibility with Excel Xp and 2003
My Human Resources provides a custom workbook for expenses. Some of the
fileds do not work when using Excel 2007. Therefore I uninstalled it.

MS Excel 2000 Standard crashes consistantly
Every time I close a MS EXCEL program it crashes. When I look at the
"event viewer" to see the cause
it list an EVENT ID 1000, "Source" "application error. I ran an error
check, MS Office repair, uninstalled
and reinstalled MS Office, ran msconfig and unchecked everything.
Nothing works! Every time EXCEL
crashes, it wants to send a error report to Microsoft. I am running

excel locks up during save..."end task" won't kill it
I have a workbook with 30+ tabs. Several times, it freezes up during the save
process. The only way to kill the application is to power down (cntrl alt
delete end task is ineffective). Very grateful to anyone who as seen this
error and has a solution.

Hi All,
My decimal separator is set to comma in Windows Regional settings (Hungarian
version) and in normal circumstances XL nicely follows this setting even if I
sometimes change it to US (fullstop). An error occured in my XL (of the kind
that close XL asking to notify Microsoft) when language in Regional settings

Why is "Share Workbook" grayed out ONLY for single workbook?
Any particular reason(s) that a specific workbook, that was shared is now
unshared has "Share Workbook" under "Tools" grayed out? This is only an
issue for that workbook. Please send some help my way. I'm desperate.

Disappearance of sheet tabs
With excel 2000 the sheet tabs on existing worksheets disappeared although
the Tools/ sheet tabs was ticked. The scroll bars had also disappeared. I
just happened to click on Windows then ticked arrange horizontally and the
sheet tabs and scroll bars miraculously were restored. I had never even
looked at the Windows icon previously.

Sheet tabs disappeared
I have excel 2000. The sheet tabs have disappeared and I see only one work
sheet when I open my workbook. From prevoius replies I note that I can cycle
through the work sheets by pressing Ctl + PgUp or Dn. That covers the
immediate problem but why have they disappeared and how can I correct the
problem permanently? Needless to say, I have ticked the option under Tools....

How do I correct the margins do not fit page size problem?
This message mysteriously appeared in a Excel spreadsheet I was working on.
Now when I try to use the print preview function the message appears and the
document is miniscule and appears to be several thousand pages (it is only
4). I have had this happen before and cannot remember how I corrected it
without having to recreate the entire spreadsheet....

Document Properties Excel 2007
When configuring the Document Properties to be shown upon saving in Excel
2007, the metadata is not shown on the General tab - On subsequebt saves the
metadata is shown and I also noticed that it save file with a different name;
the previous saved name is shown. Strange??? Anybody seen this?

Surface contour chart - plot errors
Excel 2002 is incorrectly plotting contours on the surface contour plot. It
seems that this occurs for larger plots: 15 rows by 26 columns, for example,
with 10 major units on the scale. Contours near the higher end of the scale
are not correctly represented- the eighth zone is plotted where the contour
should have changed to the ninth zone. I can change data in a cell in the
mis-plot...

I am trying to link to a specific worksheet within a workbook.
I am trying to imbed charts from specific worksheets within a workbook into a
Powerpoint presentation. I want them to be linked so that they automatically
update as the data changes. The problem I'm having is that the link goes to
whatever worksheet was open when the workbook was saved vs. the one I really

filter key and formula error
i was trying to make a simple addition formola work and held down the shift
key down to long and a message about fiter keys came up. i thought i canceled
out of it and somehow my curser turned into the fat plus sign and now the
only thing i can do on my worksheet is highlight cells and areas please help

How to prevent data from automatically converting to date
I have a software which is used to generate our chemical specs. I used to
export it out from our software in htm format and then open the htm document
and right click to convert to excel format. Recently i encontered this
program when my specs is 6-7 however when converted to excel becomes 7-Jun.
