Moving in a column by first letter of data in cells
Hi to all ,
I have a large worksheet (only a few thousand rows...) which makes it really
cumbersome to move/scroll. I want to move around in one column by the first
letter of word to enter data in the other columns (The same way we scroll in
contacts of mobile phone by their first letter). I have sorted it
alphabetically but still it's slow to move/scroll due to some codes and

How can I create a monthly planner
I have seen some preformatted Excel calendars and planners but I have
seen nothing like the one I would really like to have.
Can you help me find one or explain how I can create one. I use Excel
2003.

How I create lots of copies of the same document in once?
I have an excel file and I must create many times the same document to
be filled by the clients.
I must create at least 600 copies of the same document?
Is there any way to do it in once, instead to copy the document one by
one?

XLL Add-in
I need to understand how to make my C++ functions available in
Excel-2003. I'm using Visual C++ 2008. I'd like to use the most direct
interface, hence I ~believe~ XLL is the way to go, not DLL. Correct?

Excel 2003 - vba - Test to see if worksheet present

I have this working in one workbook, but when I transplant it into another,
it fails to function as expected.

Help with converting data in Excel
Hello all,
I have been working with a client of mine for the last few weeks to
get a simple data conversion taken care of. However it has turned out
to be more difficult than I expected. I was provided a *.txt file
that had tons of columns and extra data that wasn't needed. The

Get values from validation list; else type in values?
On Sheet1 I have a three-column table: ItemName, Value1, Value 2. I
created a dynamic named range for ItemName so I can use these names in
a drop-down list in Sheet2 via Data Validation. That way, I can add
new items to the list and they will show up in the drop-down list.

How to use goal seek on column
Hi!
I have a formula in cell C which is dependant on values in cell A and
B. I use goal seek to adjust the value in cell A to meet the goal for
C. This works perfectly. However I would like this to be performed on
all rows in column C. Is this possible?

Macro help, generating list
I want to cerate a macro in Excel 2007 that does the following:
Starts at the top of a list of numbers and goes down through each,
checking the cell to the right of it to see if it is blank. If the
cell to the right is blank, takes that number (in the left column) and

Moving data around automatically
Does anyone know of a fairly easy way to move a row of data to another
worksheet when a certain criteria is fulfilled. I.e. when i click on a
certain cell/change a cell colour/insert a symbol it moves that whole row
into another spreadsheet.
I am fairly new to prgramming but if anyone knows the function that will do
it then I will go and do some research.

column widths, formulas, formats or blocked-cell template to transfer.

Formula to prevent circular references
Hi All,

Select a range based on system date

I have a spreadsheet that I want to open protected (locked). However,
I want to unlock a specific range for data entry based on the day of
the actual system date.

sumproduct with two criteria on one column??
I have Window Vista, Office, Excel
Col A contains Mon or Tue or Wed or etc days of the weel, Col B
contains the date Jan 1, Jan 2, etc, Col C contains a dollar amount

Excel 2007 Custom Formatting using [ColorXX]
I like to use custom cell formatting for simple cell coloring of positive
and negative numbers (leaving conditional formatting for more intensive
tasks). In Excel 2003 you could use [ColorXX], where XX is a number

Refer to NamedRange, Col1 in formula to find value?
I have the following formula:
=((LOOKUP($I5,$A$2:$A$7,$D$2:$D$7)-J5)
I'd like to replace $A$2:$A$7 with "NamedRange, Col1" and $D$2:$D$7

Column Headers (MS SQL Server, OLAP)
With MS SQL Server 2005, MS Excel 2007.
Suppose the database in SQL Server contains Customers and Addresses. Each

Cell Protection and External Data
I have a worksheet that has user input to calculate data that will be
put into a database for testing. The worksheet also has a Get External
Data to get that data once the test has run.
I'm trying to preserve the formulas and outputs by protecting the
cells, but when I protect the worksheet, I can't get external data.

Excel interprets date input as non-US
When I enter November 1, 2008 as 11/1/08, it is interpreted as January 11,
2008. This started happening recently, probably after I unwisely downloaded
the latest MS updates (I'll never do that again). What's the deal? My
preferences are all for US, so what's the problem? ...
