How do you share a database w/other users?
Hi,
We have an Access database here where I work and at times more than one
person will need to get into it. It creates a problem because the first
person to open the database has the ability to read and write to it but
anyone after only has read access.
Is there a way to set up the database so that more than one user can both
read and write to the database?...

msjet versions
I know it is very important that the msjet version
on multiple PCs accessing the same database all
be the same version. I have windows 2000 and XP
machines accessing the same DB. The current versions
of msjet40 are different for 2000 (4.0.9025) and XP (4.0.8618).
How do I know that these versions will work together? Are
they both SP8? Is that enough?...

Why I can not get update IE5 to IE6=?. I have Win 2000 pro.
Kun yritän päivittää IE5 IE 6: seksi. Päivitys ei onnistu. Tulee aina

Repeating configuration
Hello,
I am using the Access 2007 trial on XP Home SP2 with all updates. I also have Access 2000 on this machine. Both are as part of the full Office system.
I find that if I use Access 2000, then the next time I open Access 2007 the Office 2007 configuration is initiated. Is there anyway to prevent this short of not using Access 2000?

Camaro or anyone: "Users logged in" in/on ULS backend
Hi,
I saw this thread a while back where you provided some code to use to see
who was logged into a database.
http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.access.security&tid=39b3b35a-6e92-4375-ae22-f997ff250e48&cat=en-us-office-access&lang=en&cr=US&sloc=en-us&m=1&p=1
I implemented it and it worked well as long as the backend wasn't secure,

sveral places to turn it off but I must be missing one because everytime I
start the program up again there it is.
Any suggestions...

? problems with Access upgrade 2000-2003 and beta 2007
I work at a medical facility that still only has Access 2000.
I have obviously kept the same at home but am planning to take an on-line

available
I just went to a local computer store and was told I needed to purchase a
full version Access 2003 rather than an upgrade. When I questioned why he

Write Conflict settings
We recently upgraded from 97 to 2003. In 97 I could change the design of an
object in a db as long as no one else was using that specific form, query,
table, etc.
Since the upgrade I cannot do these things unless I have exclusive access to
the db. Is this normal for 2003 or is this a selectable that the network
administrator could have unselected during installation.
Many thanks...

Changes to multi-user app after splitting?
I have built a database that is going to be used by 6 persons, running the
back end on a SBS 2000 server.
I have read a fair amount about splitting, which everybody seems to say is A
GOOD THING to do.
Question: once I have done the installations and the splitting, and
everything is installed and running, if (no, when) I make changes to anything
(for example the layout of a form, or if I ...

FrontEnd mdb bloats quickly - A2003
Hello --
Please let me know if there is a more appropriate newsgroup for this post.
The size of the front end mdb increases quickly after running a few of the
menu options.
There are no tables in the front end which are used during processing.
Can someone help me determine which objects in the front end are becoming
bloated and what to do about it?
Thanks in advance for any help.
