Latest Version of Jet?
I was lead to believe DAO.DBEngine.Version returns back the version of Jet.
On my machine it returns 3.6.
I have msjet40.dll in my Windows\system32 folder. It is dated 8/11/04. The
file version is 4.0.9511.0.
Am I running the latest version for Access 2003 running under XP....

Access 2007 Bugs and Data Corruption in Windows Vista
We have been developing several databases in Access 2007 this year and have
noticed several bugs or serious problems that Access 2003 does not have.
1. In an Access 2007 report, a calculated field will sometimes randomly
refuse to display its calculated result and will display ?Name instead. No

Access 97 runtime install under Vista
When trying to install an access 97 run-time application on a customer's
Vista machine, I get the following error message: oleaut32 support file was
unable to register itself in the system registry

Disable insert of a new column before the 1st column
Hi everybody !
I link my Access database to another software and the link breaks, when
somebody inserts a new column before the first colmn. Is ther a possibility
to configre Acces in this fashion to block inserting a new column before the
first column or at least poping up a message?

frozen or locked property sheet (form design) Access 2007
I've been using Access 2007 for months and this just started happening for no
apparent reason. Not always, only sometimes, the property sheet in form
design opens up but it's locked. I cannot click on any of the fields or
tabs, only the close button. I seem to have to exit Access before it will
work again. Then it happens again later.

Hi,
Dono if this is the correct newsgroup but.... lets' try.
I would like to make a mde file... alas, the computer keeps on working
without any result...
I remember doing this in the past where I was asked some details before
creating the mde file but now... nothing.
Acces doesn't seem to respond any more after giving the command to
create the file.

Access 2007 Install Error 2203 - No Love... :-(
I have Office 2007 installed and acquired Access 2007 recently. I'm trying
to install it, but I come up against this:
"Error 2203. An internal error has occurred."
Of course it point me to a file that doesn't exist for help, but no matter,

I have a user whose Access installs everytime it is opened. This is Office

DEPLOYMENT FOR USE ON MAC
I'm getting ready to deploy one of my apps for the first time. My client has
a MAC and has MSOffice. I'm deploying the app (created on Access 2007) as a
standalone, not requiring Access 2007, but are there special adjustments that
have to be made to the install file or any file for use on a MAC?

Install program places new DB in trusted policy laocation?
MS Access 2007 install program installs new DB on lap top computer, but it
will not work. Checked trusted locations and the DB folder is listed in the
Policy Locations insted of the User Locations. System will not allow me to
delete folder from policy location so I can place it into the user location.
I suspect the DB will not work in the Policy location, but must be in the
user location...

Upsizing Wizard & converting to SQL backend

set default options
Hello there,
Is there a way to save the options for current database to apply to all ne
databases on Access 2007.
The default is for tabbed documents. I want overlapping windows as the
default on all new databases.
How do I do it.

Unable to open an mdb file with ms-access
I am trying to open a .mdb file and ms-access (95) running on windows
xp pro
refuses to open it. (Yeah,its an old version, but its the only version
i have).
I get a "Unrecognized database format:D:\pathname-to-mdb file".

"Properties window" unavailable in Access 2007 setup
I have Office 2007 Pro setup on a laptop and everything in Access
seems to operate normally except that the "Properties" window is not
available in forms design view. It should show up on the right edge -
as it does on another Access 2007 machine I have here - from the

Got a compaq second hand; has key code in back but no disk; brother loaned
me his XP disk and I re-ran disk to install, but because his disk tells me
my key code not valid, is there solution so I can complete install using the
COA from my unit. I got so ticked, I bought newer computer but of course it

Need to reinstall UPGRADE version Access 2002 on new computer w/o
Old system, an original Windows 98 OS and Office Professional version had
been upgraded to Windows XP. I purchased and installed Access 2002 many
years ago. That system has crashed and been replaced with a refurbished
laptop, with preinstalled MS Office XP without Access
