user able to use the database, 1 type that is read only & 1 type to edit &

Please could someone help me with how I go about this.
Thanks

How to recover forms
Res. All,
I had developed an application in Microsoft Access secured with a
workgroup file(*.mdw). I had put securities in such a way that the users
will not have the mdw file created by me and then they will open the
forms, reports etc. They can only open the forms but they can not make
changes or view the design of the form as they are not given permissions for
that.
Now the probl...

I have created one bibliographic database using Access 2003 in support of my

Hide backend folder
I have seen suggestions for hiding the share in which the backend files are
located (split database, Access 2003, User-level security). The suggestion
I have seen Joan Wild post is:
\\servername\share$ rather than
\\servername\share will hide it
However, I can't quite sort out what that means. Do I need to get the
newtwork administrator to create a share on the server with a $ appen...

Protect tables
Hi,
I'd like to protect all the tables in my database so that no one can open
and look at the tables. What I did is the following
1. in my form, I set it "modal".
2. I set all of my tables hidden.
3. I convert the database to .mde.
Is this enough to protect the tables?
Thanks,
Boon

User Level Security problem in Access 2003
I created an Access database with linked tables to a SQL database. I then
used the Security wizard putting myself in the admin group and one user in
the read-only group. I did something wrong as this affected all of my Access
databases.
To remove the security I followed instructions in
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ork2000/HA011381181033.aspx. I also
removed the read-only user. I w...

HELP!
There was an existing database in 2003 that I imported to a new one and made
some improvements too. I purposely made a new one to overwrite a very
troublesome security .mdw file. Some network person has been working with
adding new users and I know has run the security wizard. The other day all
users had no permissions to get in the database. Then I went over there and
reinstalled a back...

I have 25 users using Access 2000, 2002, 2003.. they all use a shared MDW
file with all of the users and security
We have several new users with Access 2007.
How do I join the 2007 access users to the MDW file that exists so they have
the same user access.
I don't mind copying the MDW to thye new users computers to join them there
if necessary.
Thanks
