Can I link to tables on teradata?
the source is teradata and I am trying to set up odbc.....it appears to run
but then I get a blank table list......

Cut & Paste
Normally, I have a database I've been updating from EXCEL by copying the
records from EXCEL, then pasting them into the ACCESS table.
Recently, however, it won't let me do this. It has begun giving me the

Export data from current record to csv
Hi,
I want to add a command button to a form so that when a user clicks it
certain fields from the current record on that form are exported to a csv
file. At present the fields get exported for all records in that table.
1) Can I run a command that just exports the relevant fields from the
"current/selected" reord

drag and drop data from Excel into Access 2007
For years I have exported data from Excel into Access just dragging and
dropping it in the appropriate tables.
I just upgraded to 2007 and can no longer do this and have to import the
data using the "import" function.
Did this functionality disappear in Access 2007 or am I missing something ?

Formating part numbers after import from Excel
I am importing part numbers from an Excel Spreadsheet into Access 2007 . the
field name is PART_NUM
The partunmber field is text and is 12 digits in length
I want to do an update query that will place dashes into the part number
after every three letters or numbers for example 000-000-000-000 or
123-abc-768-def
I have tried several combinations but none of them work properly

Problem with Excel file import
I have imported a file from Excel into Access 2007 but have got a number of
"Type Conversion Errors" on a number of the records. The columns in Excel
are formatted as dates and some of the data has been imported successfully
whilst some hasn't. I've checked the data in the problem cells in the
spreadsheet and they all appear to be OK they look like dates and are shown
as formatted as dat...

Linking to a spreadsheet
I'm trying to link to a spreadsheet but the Linked Manager button is greyed
out. How do I do that? I'm using Access 2007. I've checked Help but it
doesn't seem to explain what to do unless I've meissed something.

Transfer files to a new computer
I have an Access database in 2003 format on a computer running XP. I am
trying to move it to a new computer with a new Access 2007 program. I saved
the 2003 files on a thumb drive, and I can load them in Access on the new
computer, where they show up just fine by plugging the thumb drive into the

Importing what file name?

Assigning blanks to values in lookup tables
I have a lookup table to identify my customer type. E is edu, G is Gov, and
NULL/blank is Std.
How to I get my Access Query to bring back the rows with this cell blank as
std?
Now it just brings back the rows that are populated with the E or G....

Importing an Excel file
I have an Excel that I need to import on an almost daily basis into an Access
2003 database. I have created the fields in the table with names that follow
the normal convention, avoiding spaces etc. However the column names in the
spreadsheet will not be the same as the field names in the table. Is there

File to import is systematically created with date as file name.
The data file that I will need to import into the program every day is a
systematically created .txt file that will be kept in a folder with all the
rest of the past generated files. What is the best way to get the program to
grab the newest file and automatically import that with out user intervention.

Import Spec does not exist
I have an Access 2003 database that imports a number of different text files
once per week into various tables. These files have changes made to the
layouts now and then, in which case, I usually start a manual import, change
the Import Spec accordingly and save it over the other one. Now, I normally

Import creates extra rows
Importing or linking to a .txt file creates a blank row after every data row.
The file is \ delimited.
There is no problem on other PCs using this database and import......

email attachments
I need a little help with sending email with attachments. I use Novel and I
am trying to send email with a text file attachment. I’m not sure if this can
be done with the SendObject method as I’m not sending a report or table but a
text file created from a table a DoCmd.TransferText command with a file spec.
Does anyone know how to do this? Access 20002, XP

Access 2007 Browse to Import Excel File
I have trouble with the Browse function that will not work when I am trying
to import an Excel file. When I go to the External Data -Excel File,, the
browse button will not do anything. If I go to the same for Access File, the
browse function will work. An ideas?...

200 COL Excel file with 700 rows -how to switch COLS & ROWS in ACC
I have an EXCEL spreadsheet with 700 lines of data and 200 columns. It was
set up with COLUMN A as the data header with the individual columns being the
data fields. ACCESS will not import this correctly since it requires the
first ROW to the the header as opposed to the first COLUMN. Is there a way
to switch this in ACCESS? The number of rows will NOT transpose in EXCEL as
they exceed ...

I am trying to set import to excel from an access DB Query. I use the wizard
provided an when prompeted I select the Query I want to use but get this
message Undefined Function'Week' in expression. Now the function it refers
to is working fine, it is located in access.
Odd think is on other queries it is running fine and imports to excel
perfect in those queries.

Help in Importing from EXcel
I have several diferent sources of data incuding Excel spreadsheets and other
non access databases that I will be importing into an access 2007 database.
The issue is that part numbers are not uniform. Some have dashes in the part
numbers and others do. I am looking at the easiest way to import the data and
then once it is imported to make sure the required dashes are added to the
data.

What is the limit on fields I can import into a table?
