Read_Only Kinks
I have a standard frontend/backend setup. Now the user wants a front
end in which he can write some reports and queries. I need to link
that backend as read-only. Is there a simple way to do this?
Right now the system is in 2003 so I owuld like to know how do this
this in DAO and ADO.

Run Time Distribution
I would like to distribute an app using Access runtime. In the past, there
have been real difficulties if RunTime is installed when the user already
has Access installed. There are version problems, library problems etc. I
haven't done this for several years so was wondering if those issues are
resolved with 2007, 2003 etc.

runtime error 5 in Package Wizard
I had to wipe my computer and reinstall everything, OS and all. I
have Win XP Pro, SP2, Office 2003 and the Developer Extentions.
When I try to run the Package Wizard, I get the following
"An unexpected error has been encountered in procedure Form_Load of
module Form_frmWizardShell. Runtime error '5': Invalid procedure call
or argument."
There is an option to open the error log file....

is MDB depecrated?
Hi all! I'm quite confused. Is it true that MDB is deprecated? Will
Microsoft release a next Access version? Or will they just move to SQL? If
not, will they continue supporting DAO and Access related technologies?
I have read so many lose fragments. I read that the next version of Windows
will use a SQL-driven file system, so database technology seem to be part of
the OS.

runtime install fails due to language problems
I am using XP developer english version on a hungarian offece xp. But when I
try to install the created runtim package on a computer with german windows
xp pro, it fails because the language is not right. Is it because I do not
use a german version of access runtime or is there another problem?
What shall I do?...

VSTO other than ADE
I purchased the VSTO 2003 for the ADE and licensing needed for the
application I am producing. Access is my only interest. What other useful
things are included with the VSTO that I may need? I know there are many
CD's but I am not using SQL or VB.net. Are there other things I am missing?

G'day guy's
I have a DB which I created using Acc2K3 but saved in Acc2K format.
The user is running Vista on a 64 bit system.
Can anyone tell me what runtime files I need to download so I can install
them on his system so he can use the DB as he does not have office @ all.
