form name in openargs
I am trying to do something that seems like it should be simple, but i
can't get it right. I have a popup form for users to enter or edit

Custom Database Properties
Hi Experts
I have an access adp project connected to a sql server 2000 database. I need
to store a few local values in the adp project. I have used the Custom
Database Properties to save these values. How do I retrieve these items using
ADO code? Or can it only be done for access mdb files?

speed up views with conversions
Hello,
i´m working in a adp, connected to the sqlserver. I created view2, which has
access to view1. In view2 are some conversions with "cast". Trying to open
view2, takes over a minute. Is there a possibility to speed this task?

Trigger works in EM but not in ADP MS 2007
Hi,
I found a problem for which I cannot find the root :
In ADP when updating my view via normal view mode or Form mode it won't fire
my trigger.
In Enterprise Manager it works just fine with out problems.
Does ADP UI (MS 2007) update its view and forms via update statement or is it
done via other means ?

Access 2003 ADP/SQL Server 2005 - parameterised row sources do not work
I'm using the well-established technique of parameterising combo box row
sources using an inline function or an sproc which has a parameter name
equivalent to the name of a form control.
What I've found in an Access 2003/SQL Server 2005 environment is that this
will only work if I'm logged on as a sysadmin. With any other user, I get

Timeout issue
I have migrated my Access03 to ADP on SQLExpress2005. All is well when I run
my query "View_Salesman_ProductSalesCount" with just a few products selected
but when I select more than 30 products (319 of them) the message timeout
will be displayed. Is there a way to increase this timeout. My SQL statement

The Count function
Got a question on how Count is used. If you create a group by query with more
than 1 GROUP BY fields and a Count field, does it make a difference to the
results if you entered the Count formula as Count(*) or Count(FieldName). Say
for instance the query is:

I have upsized my mdb to adp.
It is really easy to package an mdb using the VSTO developer extention. How
do I do this for my project which has Access 2003 as front end and SQLExpress
2005 the back end.

CurrentProject.OpenConnection ignores default language
It appears to me that the CurrentProject.Connection object ignores the SQL
Login's default language setting when using an ADP project.
If I execute the two pieces of code below I get different results.
I use a login form that calls CurrentProject.OpenConnection, but the
resultant CurrentProject.Connection dis-respects the SQL default language of
the user.

Running an Access project crashes Access 2007 SP1
I am currently testing an older Access project for compatibility with Access
2007, SP1 prior to a roll-out.
I'm experiencing a problem with a complex form that fails to open and
crashes Access 2007. It runs fine on Access 2003. The database is SQL Server
2000. Using references to ADO 2.5, 2.7 or 2.8 makes no difference.

Error on insert: Invalid input parameter values...
I have a form that works fine for updates and deletes, but when I try to
insert a new record as a non-sysadmin, I get this error:
Invalid input parameter values. Check the status values for detail.
In Profiler, the last thing before the error is the sp_prepare statement for
the insert.
I am familiar with the issue with identity columns (this table is using one)

SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
Hi All,
I have an Access 2003 file that keeps giving the same error message to
two users on file open, but the other two users are not getting the
error. I'm responsible for figuring out why this error is occurring
