Subpage - different from Pages?
"Jerry West" <jw[ at ]comcast.net> 2/16/2007 8:05:46 PM
It seems to me the only thing different about Subpages from Pages is the
length of the tab as its shown along the right nav pane. It is just a bit
shorter than a Page tab. I guess this is supposed to represent a nesting? I
can't seem to get over the fact that if they are truly Subpages of a Page
then if the Page is moved why don't all the Subpages move with the "parent"
Page? And why have a right click option for "Ungroup pages"? It isn't like
the pages are stuck together the way, I feel, they should be if they were
truly children of a parent page. I mean, isn't it as easy to simply drag a
parent or child page elsewhere to "ungroup" them? What am I missing?

LOL.
Yes subpages are entirely useless and you are correct they are
misnamed.
I call subpages sTubpages, cuz they are just pages that are stubby.

=====previous rant====
Subpages aren't useful. As outlined, they really aren't sub pages at
all. A sub page would be MOVED if the Master Page was moved. You
can't collapse subpages because they aren't really subpages in an
objective sense.

Subpages are just regular pages with a smaller area for the title to
show. That's not useful at all ! I might feel a subpage was useful
if it was a lighter color so I could *EASILY* visually see the main
Titles (and not the subpage titles). But that's not the case.

So really subpages are just subpages in name.
Not function.

I think of OneNote subpages as sTubpages, just a regular page with a
stubbier Tab. I'll pass.

The only use for collapsable subpages would be to allow more Main
pages to be viewable on one screen and I think that would be useful
for larger OneNote sections.

My first OneNote 2007 "complaint". Feels good. :) Of course who
cares about subpages when OneNote synchs over Hamachi ! LOVE IT>

OK, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something here. Other than
this gripe I really do like OneNote. Its probably the best app, along w/the
Office upgrade, I've purchased in several years.
