Watermark Issue Ross from Orlando <rpayne4[ at ]cfl.rr.com> 12/16/2008 8:16:45 PM I'm working on a multi-page Word 2007 document. It is set up for the first page header to be different, which I suspect has something to do with the issue I'm about to describe. I am trying to put a watermark on each page. When I insert the watermark while the cursor is somewhere in page 1, the watermark appears on page 1 only. When I insert the watermark while the cursor is somewhere in page 2, the watermark appears on all the pages except page 1. Any ideas? Thanks, Ross

There are three storyTypes associated with a document header FirstPageHeaderStory, EvenPageHeaderStory, and PrimaryPageHeaderStory. If you have your document set up with a different first page then the header on that page is in the FirstPageHeaderStory (so is the watermark). Watermarks in the FirstPageHeaderStory are not in the PrimaryPageHeaderStory so they don't show up on other pages. If you want your watermark in both stories then you need to insert it in both. Go to the header of the one it is in. Selected and copy it. Go the header that it isn't in, click and paste. This is because an object inserted in the Header can be made to float anywhere on a page as far down as the Footer and is not restricted to inside Header margin as with text.
