Spelling & Grammer not working
"Paul" <nothanks[ at ]btopenworld.com> 11/3/2008 12:09:21 PM
I have been sent a document which when I change anything it is not checking
my spelling. I have checked the tools/options for the document and the box
"Check spelling as you type" is checked and hide spelling errors is not, but
even if I copy the data to a new page it still wont check the spelling (yes
there are error's :-) ).

If I start a new instance of word spelling starts functioning again.

I have also checked the custom dictionary section and this is correct in
both working and not working docs .

What is going on?

Ctrl+A to select the entire document, then go to Tools | Language | Set
Language, make sure the correct language is selected, and completely clear
the "Do not check spelling or grammar" check box (this may require checking
it twice). For more, see

I have tried this and the doc doesn't want to apply this to the whole doc.
If a select a word and set the attribute for that it will check it, but if I
ctrl A the whole lot I get the square / click to empty box, and close but
when I miss spell a word it doesn't check it, and when I return to the
language the tick box is set to not check again ?????

Check the formatting of your styles to make sure that none of them are set
to "Do not check..."
