With regards your second issue, download a free programme called "Click Yes" - it enables you to resolve the security prompt re sending emails. http://www.contextmagic.com/express-clickyes/
With regards your first issue - have you tried sending a test email? Have you recently upgraded from Outlook Express at all? You may need to recreate your profile
