I am also having a problem with this in Word 2003. I adopted someone else's documentation. She has the style as a numbered style, not as an outline numbered style. Clicking the Increase Indent does exactly what I want it to do, but it does so with .5" indents, where I'm looking for .25" indents. I've tried resetting the tabs to default to .25", but Tab button not increase indenting - it just moves over my text and keeps the numbering in the same place. Is there anything I can do to change the default indent, or do I have to change the style to an outline numbered list? I'd rather the former, only because there are a great many documents that currently use this style.
