SQL service won't start...Can't find database.
Cosmo 5/5/2007 7:47:00 PM
During BCM setup, I get the following error message:

"Business Contact Manager Could not find the database you are looking for..."

Set up then asks if I want it to create a new database, and I answer "yes".
After trying, Set Up is unable to create a new data base.

The sql MSSMLBIZ service is "starting" but never "started" like all the
other services.

I also get a small white icon in the lower right tray which appears to be
the SQL program trying to start but needs a data base to connect to. When I
right click on the SQL icon, the option to "start" the service is greyed out
(not available).

I’ve been struggling with this and reading everything I can find but nothing
is solving the problem. It appears BCM is installed properly and ready to go
but for the SQL failing to start. PLEASE HELP!!

XP Pro and Outlook 2003

Hi Cosmo
I believe you have Outlook with BCM 2003 SP4? Could you please provide us
with SQL logs from your C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\LOG to BCMTEAM at Microsoft.com

Could you also try this by going to sql server configuration manager tool
|Sql Server 2005 Network Configuration | Protocols for MSSMLBIZ, right click
and select properties. In the wizard disable Force Encryption. Restart the
service See if that works.

Reply back here when you send the log files.
Thanks
Vinit

Thanks
