Avoid installing Office 2007's Built-In Templates
tjementum <tjementum[ at ]gmail.com> 5/10/2007 9:06:03 AM
Hi

A customer of mine wants to know if it is possible to avoid installing
Word, Excel and PowerPoints templates.

When installing Office 2007 I don't see the option to disable
installation of templates.

They are rolling out Offices 2007 via SMS Server.

A link would be great ;-)

Thanks,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

It depends on which templates you're referring to. The true 'built in' ones are in the application files and are generated on first
use if they're not found on the system, but for Office 2007 there is more a 'get it online' as you need via the File(Office
Button)=>New menu
than on installing as many items, plus there Building block (reusable content) and theming.

The Office 2007 resource kit for deployment is available at http://technet.microsoft.com/office
