Adam,
I have done this successfully. What type of mobile device are you attempting to synch with? I had to update the ROM on my WM device to the latest firmware in order for Vista to work with it.
BTW, the BCM mobile add in from MS is pretty lame. It syncs your data into a separate storage application on the device and you primarily need to navigate 2 handed with a stylus. Also, there is no name search quick dial or caller ID functionality. I would recommend that you instead take a look at the Pocket Mirror Professional for Windows Mobile found at www.chapura.com.
