messaging interface has returned an unknown error.

When I try and empty (or delete) my deleted items folder in outlook, I
receive the following message: messaging interface has returned an unknown
error. If the problem persists, restart outlook.

I would create a new outlook data file, but I don't want to lose my address
book info. Is there a way I can create a new default outlook data file but
keep my calendar and address book info in place.

2nd question (unrelated) Why is is that whenever I try and archive my emails
(by selecting auto archive now) nothing ever happens?

Thx for the help

Is BCM involved in this? Generally it leaves the Outlook PST and
emails alone.

If not, try your question in microsoft.public.outlook.

Hi JRJayhawk,

have a look on this site:

"You receive the "Interface not registered" error message ....."
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/870707/en-us

Maybe it helps.
