highlighter

When one wants to highlight a word, you mark the word with the mouse
and one can hardly make a straight highlight.
And the results looks ugly.

Maybe ON should restrict any deviant drawing and automatically make the
highlight straight.
Sounds logical to me.

I use ON2003

Sorry, please read "highlighter" as "pen thick drawing".

So I would like to see pen drawing automatically corrected for a straight
drawing.

Use the drawing tools - that's why they're there.

Sometimes I WANT to draw something that isn't exactly straight. :)

He can't use the drawing tools - He is on 2003 still :(

The best ideas I can give you are to either run the side of your hand down a
straight edge when drawing the highlight or upgrade to 2007.

Well, he's asking for an feature that already exists. :) Drawing
tools/straight-line snap-to is not going to get added to ON2003. Regardless
if he wants that feature he's going to have to upgrade.

ON2007 does not work on windows2000 and thats why i hae to use ON2003.
Maybe MS should upgrade ON2003!

They're not going to add a significant new feature to an outdated product.
That would be a waste of resources.

The OneNote team is fully engaged on OneNote 14 at present. How many
features would you like them to not put in the next version so that they can
add drawing tools to an old version? :-)

With a little luck XP will still be able to run it... but I suspect
Server 2003 support (as a workstation) might be a bit in the air...

Way too early to know. :) I haven't heard anything to make me think it
won't support it so far.

I agree, too early to tell, but given that 2000 is not supported, I can
almost see a pattern emerging. If a sample set of 1 can be of any worth...

True, but Windows 2000 is two OS versions behind at this point. I'm pretty
sure the next OneNote will ship before the next OS does. :)
