ACT 6.0 import in BCM 2007
Mike Vandamme 2/9/2007 3:32:00 PM
I used the conversion tool of BCM 2007 to import my ACT 6.0 database. During
the conversion phase the .dbf file is converted to .bcm file, but in the
phase that this .bcm file is imported then I get the message that there was
an error because of a "wrong version of the file"??
I really want to merge from Act! to BCM but I am stucked.

Thank in advance for your help!

Mike:

Was this error in the log file after the import into BCM? Did you get data
in BCM -- all or some?

You might try doing a compress and reindex in ACT! and retrying the
conversion -- there might have been some corruption that confused BCM.

HTH,
Lon

Thank you for the reaction.

After the conversion I have a .bcm file. But when I want to import this bcm
file I got the message "Some errors occured while your data was being
imported. Wrong file version." I tried with a small ACT! database with some
records (5 contacts) and ... the same results.

Where can I find the log file that bcm is generating during this process ?

There's a link in the dialog box that appears at the end of the import. I
don't know the exact location of the log --maybe one of the BCM Team can
tell us.

The log is at %temp%\bcmlog_v3. Please let me know what you find (direct
mail is fine).

Thanks, Chris

Mail to me at chrishey[ at ]online.microsoft.com, but drop the "online".

I just want to inform if you have well received the requested information by
email.
I am looking forward for any feedback so we can continue the migration from
ACT to BCM.

Best regards,

Mike
