Need quicker launch from tray icon w 2007 version - slower than 20

Just upgraded to OneNote 2007. It is MUCH slower to launch via the system
tray icon than One Note 2003 to make a short unclassified note.

What can be done to get back to the old level of performance?

If you have just installed it, you may have also installed WDS, and the
slowness could be related to the initial index process. See if performance
improves after a day or so.

I don't know about your specific hardware, but in general, more features
means a larger program and higher system requirements. There really isn't
much tuning that can be done to ON.

I did not install the Microsoft indexing feature.

I have a system well in excess of the Microsoft specification for Office 2007.

The whole point of a popup window from the tray icon is to
quickly enter a note. I take it from your comment that the specific task's
performance is not as good as with the previous version.

If theres' nothing to be done that's too bad. I was hoping that tweaking the
OS prefetch would help.

Google Notebook is faster to launch for me now.

Where are your notebooks stored, local or remote? If you boot OneNote
(START|Programs...), does it also take a long time to boot?

Additionally, are you using a Logitech keyboard or mouse? Bring up Task
Manager and try killing setpoint.exe. We've had some reports of conflicts
with OneNote that we are currently investigating.

Thanks for using OnNote!
