Error message validating Microsoft Office with XP
Memuz 4/20/2007 5:40:00 AM
I am a senior in NZ. with a little computer knowledge.
Having just purchased Microsoft Windows Pro. 2007 I cannot validate it on my
desktop computer, but on our Notebook it went straight thru.
I keep getting the error message;
'A communication error has occured. You request cannot be proccesed at
this time. Please try again in a few minutes.'
I have been trying for a week now with the same results, The only thing I
could think of I was using Monzilla Firefox as my browser but have now
removed it from the HD and then searched for any mention of it and removed
them but I presume that there are possibly files still in the registry, but
they are a bit beyond my knowledge. I am now using Internet Explorer
6.0.2900.xpxp_gdr.0707227-22541C with still the same results.
Hoping someone can help me, I only have 8 more openings left.

I would suggest a couple of things to try:
1 - uninstall Windows Pro 2007 and then reinstall, this may resolve the
problem.
2 - contact Microsoft for technical support. Since this was just purchased,
they should support any issues and help you with resolving them.

Thanks for your reply, but since my query I decided to use the phone which
was quite a hassle - lots of buttons to push and numbers read out far to fast
- but since then while trying to access my secure bank site and I was getting
'cannot access page' but under suggestions it had to check settings for SSL
2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0 and on checking SSL 2.0 only had a click so
ticked the others (except PCT1.0 which is not on mine) and then got straight
into bank site.
I now presume that Microsoft site being secure could have been the same
problem?
