Formatting the page number is available but results in nothing. No problem inserting text in headers or footers. Frequently told "Building Boxes.dotx Template not available." (Note -- the 1033 is the language ID for English US; if you have another language or locale, the number will be different.) Then restart Word, which will create a new copy of that file. I teach college as well and this is a problem for a fair amount of my students. And I am an author - books on MS Excel/Office among others. And my editor's staff has this problem too.
