I was wondering what is the simplest way to have 2 pc's keep 2 notebooks which auto update each other whenever connected to the internet. Connection meaning not necessarilly on the same network but the internet. Also identitical notebooks synch includes all the connections. I have my desktop and my tablet pc. Each has a copy of One Note and the various notebooks i created. On many of my pages, I have links to files like PDF, DOC, Excel etc so that all I have to do is click the link and the file opens. Working on two computers in an either or mode and having them update each other I find that the links are always broken because the notebooks are not in the same folder path on one machine from the other. Am I doing something wrong here?

Frick, I suggest you look into having a common spot to put your notebooks and share them using 2007's shared notebooks functions. This means you would need to have one place that both machines could get to at times, but you would not need to be connected to that location at all times. I don't know that you will find this satisfactory for your linked files, so instead I recommend that any files you MUST have from both machines you drop onto a page instead of linking to.
By using the sharing mechanisms, you allow OneNote's caching features to keep your notes up to date on both machines. The cache allows you to work on one machine when not connected and then sync the other machine when you are connected. It works for all notebooks not stored on a local hard drive, whether they are stored on SharePoint, a Windows share, or a detachable device like a USB drive or a card.
Check it out.. I think you will find it meets many of your needs.

Thanks Kathy,
Got a reply on another newgroup which takes into consideration what you suggested with a slight modification.
So, here's what I have done and it works flawlessly.
1. On my main drive (C: on both computers) I created a new folder that I called OneNote. 2. Created subfolders for each of my OneNote notebooks. 3. Got a free Foldershare account and linked the two computers OneNote Folders. 4. In OneNote, I created my Project Notebooks to the Folders created in C:\OneNote. 5. I drop my project documents in the associated folders in OneNote. 6. I create my reference links in OneNote. 7. Foldershare without any intervention automatically syncs the OneNote Folder and all its subfolders on both machines.
Now I have my OneNote notebooks and all their associated files on both computers always in sync, and when I click on my links on a OneNote page the files open. NO BROKEN LINKS!!! Yahoooooo.

I think you'll see with Foldershare the same thing I saw with OneNote2003 is that it seems to work flawlessly for some time but then there will be conflicts which result in you having 2 files from 1 and you'll need to decide which to delete.
I'm convinced there's still a way to use FolderShare (it would be nice especially for folks like me where the 2 machines will never be on the same network) but I think it'll involve having one machine with 1 copy of the OneNote notebook and the other machine with 2 copies.
Master = 1 copy in the FolderShare folder. Client = 1 copy in the FolderShare folder and 1 copy cached using OneNote2007's cool sync feature.
That's my guess I haven't gotten it working yet though.

USP45,
If both machines have access to the internet, preferably on at all times, (or on alot), deploying hamachi on both PCs would have a Virtual LAN, ie. VPN.
Never mind foldershare. Use that for NON-ONENOTE synching. I do like foldershare but my hamachi setup is AMAZING.
