(using two screens) have one page from One Note on one screen, and another, different, page on the other? I've tried running two instances of One Note to do it, but I guess programmers have become wiser over the years and realized that most people don't want two instances of one program so the action of starting the program again will merely highlight the active program in the taskbar.
But I really *do* need to see two separate pages at once. :-)
Any ideas? Thanks!

Press control + m (New Window) and then move the second window of OneNote to the other screen >?

Thanks! I'll give that a shot the next time I'm near my second screen...

Ms. Gauvin-O'Donnell, Please report back on the results. It might be an interesting way to use ON2007 in the classroom. One page visible to students and another the teacher. I wonder if I could set up a projector as a second page?
Perhaps the feat of taking notes while someone views a similar page might be more easily accomplished in Powerpoint with the slide and the "Notes" visible only to me while the "slide" is projected. I want the inking, though. PPT does allow inking on the slide.
My 5th graders aren't going to have their own ON2007 and tablet to "collaborate with me" over the creaky school network! That would be cool, though, wouldn't it?
I will try this back in class tomorrow.
Anyone have further thoughts on two [independent] views of content?

You don't have to have a second screen to do this. This will make OneNote like having a second window open. Very useful if you want to make a "summary" of your notes in one window and do searching in the other.
You can also hit window|new window if keyboard shortcuts aren't your thing.

I use this all the time on my machine. I have Win-N open a new side note on my second screen and I jot notes down over there, quite useful!

Yeah, I tried it yesterday and it worked ! it worked! it worked!
:-)
So what it allowed me to do is have my noteboook open with two pages: the one on my laptop, where I was typing up the handwritten notes which were on the second screen. Otherwise I would have had to toggle back and forth among section pages....
Wheeeeeeeee!

I am a two-screen computer user forever now. Couldn't live without it.

Another option is to add the button for the command to the toolbar:
- Click Tools, select Customize - In the Commands tab, select the Window and Help item in Categories - Top of the list under Commands is "New Window" - Click and hold that item, drag it to the toolbar - Click the Close button
....and you're good to go. I also did the same with the "New Side Note" command. I practically =live= in OneNote, but never thought to do this before.... (Insert sound of me smacking my head on desk here)
