Installing Office 2007, but do I uninstall the earlier version?
NYCntryGirl 3/29/2007 1:36:01 AM
Hi, all!

I just got my Office Pro Plus 2007 software and I want to install it, but I
have Office 1997 on my computer (I know - DINOSAUR!) Do I install 2007 and
then uninstall 1997 afterwards? Do I uninstall and THEN install? I'm so
confused. (BTW, I have Windows XP)

The programs take up so much space that I'm worried I'll run out of gigs if
I keep both loaded...

ANY help/suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

If you don't want Office 97, then you can just do an upgrade
installation of 2007 and it will remove it.

Hello, Yes you do uninstall one program to install the other but I have xp
also and its alot smarter programing than people give it credit for or mine
is but anyways if you will just install the new version after its done it
will pick up the other one and give you a choice which do you want to keep
that way your not getting rid of one before your sure the other one is going
to work these machines were built to handle alot to keep up with us people
only they can be tricky at times so just try to be safe rather than sorry
before uninstalling or deleting anything your not certain on. hope I could
help. --
