It sounds like you are using a shared database and that database is not currently online, therefore you are obtaining that error message. You can choose to work offline, and re-connect to the online database later on when it becomes available. This simply means that BCM will store changes you make to your local database, and when you re-connect to the online database, it will sync your changes to the online database.
