I've never used BCM on my machine, but my mom today has run into problems with it and I'm not sure how to help her. She had to set up an email account in outlook and while running a test, she got an error message that BCM had to shut down because it experienced an error. It wouldn't shut down on it's own, so she ended the process in task manager and since then has not been able to open outlook. According to her, it's "It's totally frozen in this "safe mode" request. I clicked on "fix and repair" which told me to download some updates. I downloaded the Service Pack 3 for Outlook and Business Contact Manager but then it wouldn't install saying it couldn't find Business Contact Manager." As I said before, I have no experience with BCM, so I'd appreciate any advice you could offer. Thanks.

I would recommend uninstalling BCM by clicking "Start | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs". Next, go to "Start | Control Panel | Mail | Show Profiles...", select your Outlook profile and click "Properties", then "Data Files...". Remove Business Contact Manager from the Profile Install BCM Update for Outlook 2003 and then install Service Pack 3. Start Outlook and configure BCM to use the existing database.
