Re-run BCM setup. It will create a sql instance with the name and port number BCM connects to. Or you can create the instance using sql.
In BCM v2 the default SQLInstanceName is MICROSOFTSMLBIZ and SQLPort 56183. In BCM v3 the default SQLInstanceName is MSSMLBIZ and SQLPort 5356.
You can confirm the value in the Registry, in "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft \Business Solutions eCRM" there are two keys: SQLInstanceName and SQLPort
If BCM runs--e.g., you can create new databases in BCM-- then you probably already have a BCM sql instance. When you attach the old database file to the BCM instance, the database should show up in BCM. If not, then the database may be in another locale or an unsupported version.
