Hi Henry,
I do not know Vista, so if it is related to Vista this won't help. In case it is not Vista-caused: Was the code still running? If so, do Run, Reset. Then you should be able to get to the references. Alternatively, you could open the file while holding down the Shift key. That will prevent any code from running or forms from opening. Then go to the VB Editor and see if you can get to the References.
