I am using Office Word 2007 on a Windows Vista Ultimate system.
When I select Print Preview and choose Shrink to Fit, does the original document shrink, or only the print format?

Just the printout. The original document is never altered by printing.

But the Shrink to Fit icon in Print Preview does actually shrink the font sizes to accommodate the text on one page. Scaling (in the Print dialog) affects only printing.

I believe the OP asked if the original document is shrunk, which it is not.

But it is. When you use the Shrink to Fit button in Print Preview, the document itself is changed.

I suppose that one should save the document, shrink to fit, print and then close the document and not save the changes. That's a question. "Suzanne S. Barnhill" <sbarnhill[ at ]mvps.org> wrote in message news:uMKb%23QDTJHA.5080[ at ]TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl...

That would work as long as you remember not to save!
