Linking Captions to styles other than Headings
Steph123 12/11/2008 3:56:09 PM
Hi there, I wonder if anyone out there can help me with a little problem. I
have a very large document that consists of numbered list (outlined) linked
to Headings 1, 2 and 3. This is then followed by Appendices which are also
(outlined) numbered lists but these are linked to new styles headings named
Appendix Headings 1, 2 and 3. I have done this so I could set format of the
main document to have 1.1 Heading 1, 1.1.1 Heading 2 and then 1.1.1.1 Heading
3. The appedices then follow in a different format with A1.1, A1.1.1. The
problem I now have is that I want to insert some captions for figures and
tables and I want to link these to the chapter numbers. However I only seem
to be able to do this for the first part of the document for the Headings 1,
2 and 3. Does anyone know if there a way I can link captions to different
styles or a way around this?
I hope I have explained this so it makes sense (it is harder that I
thought!). Any help would be very much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance
Steph
