Is it possible to create 'nested tasks'
GillM - UK 3/15/2007 3:57:41 PM
I would like to be able to create 'nested tasks' within OneNote - for example
a 'Major project' could consist of several 'Mini projects' which in turn
could consist of several 'Next Actions'. I think what I want is a
combination of customised note flags and the outlining tool - I would like to
be able to collapse/expand these nested tasks into their appropriate levels,
yet I need the note flags to indicate if the task is complete or not. I am
currently using OneNote 2003, but would consider upgrading to 2007.

Is this functionality available?

Just make an outline and assign checkmark tags for the paragraphs that
are tasks. OneNote can't roll up those checkmarks. i.e. if you check off
all the child items OneNote will not automatically check off the parent
item. You will have to do that yourself.

Thanks Grant - this is certainly a workaround I will try. But you are right,
what I would really like is for the parent items to be automatically checked
off when their child items are completed - maybe the next release...

Are nested tasks the same as Evernote's embedded tasks ?

I don't think so, that functionality already seems to be within OneNote.

No, what I am really looking for is something that will work like Illium
Software's 'List Pro' that I use on my PDA.
