System slowdown

I am new to OneNote and have been using the trial 2007 version. It
seems to slow the system down. For instance, even when making a new
directory in my file manager (Power Desk), there is a pause of perhaps
five seconds. This never happened before. I really like the program
but this is a problem. I uninstalled it once, and things picked up.
After reinstalling again today, the slow downs are happening.

I am using Office 2003, XP Professional, with a gig of RAM.

Any suggestions? Anything else close to OneNote?

Aloha Wyel,

When you see these slowdowns do you have OneNote open? Do you have Windows
Desktop Search installed and running?
