I have a similar problem. Some times I can assign a primary to a contact and sometimes I cannot. In some cases only a few contacts have the ability to be assigned and others cannot. it is a little frustrating.
This was not always the case. When BCM was first installed had no problem but it seems that after an update at one point I started to have problem of changing who is the primary contact.
I hope they correct this problem.
