Scan to ON for Paperless Filing--> auto-crop jeremyj <jeremy.joslin[ at ]gmail.com> 4/18/2007 10:19:14 PM I'm starting to use ON2007 more and more and my latest trial has been to use it as an archive system for bills, receipts, etc. Right now, I use "scan into ON" for each page of a bill. For some reason my scanner is auto-cropping what I scan into ON. I'm running VISTA and there seems to be no place that I can find to un- check/check this action. Scanner is MP390. The result is that each scan gives me a different size image in ON. Ideally, with this setup, I'd like to be able to "reconstitute" my files into paper if needed, but this doesn't seem to be possible as is.

Re: Scan to ON for Paperless Filing--> auto-crop jeremyj <jeremy.joslin[ at ]gmail.com> 4/21/2007 9:36:29 PM Here's an experiment I've just tried. 1.) scan document using MS Document Scanner 2.) check document... looks perfect 3.) insert file into ON page using option "insert as file copy" 4.) later, return to this icon and right-click. choose option to insert as printout. 5.) now I have an icon of the embedded .tiff and below it is a printout of the same file. 6.) the printout is AUTO-CROPPED now, whereas the embedded original is not. This kinda sucks if I can't turn this auto-crop business off. I've gone through all the settings and see nothing regarding this. It really messes up the image and leaves out important details of the document that may be close to a margin.

I now believe the unwanted auto-crop behaviour only happens when using the feature "scan to onenote". Not sure if it's my own scan driver or what, but I've never had this problem with scanning before.
