hyperlink management

I'd be interested to know what other are doing manage hyperlinks.

For example, my notes tend to be organized by source document, so I use
hyperlinks to connect ideas. For more complicated ideas, I create a "table
of contents" page -- a page of hyperlinks that are related so I can organize
and navigate to the links. It works, but it can be a little time-consuming
to do this. Navigation is a bit clumsy, and I can't easily move around
because I always have to navigate back to the table of contents.

There is some intriguing software called "mindjet" that looks like it would
do a good job (there are previous posts about this), but the software is
twice as expensive as OneNote itself. That seems like a lot to basically
assist with one feature.

What have you done? I almost wish there was a way that if you give 10
hyperlinks the same keyword "name", that clicking on any one of them would
give you a map and let you go to any of the other 9.

Sorry, the first sentence should read:

"I'd be interested to know what others are doing to manage their hyperlinks."

I would imagine there's a way to hyperlink a search for a keyword that
is inserted into all of the grouped files. Probably a better way,
should you decide its worth it, would be to tag each relevant page and
then simply View-> All tagged notes. this is pretty much what I do.

Having said that, a way to automatically generate a table of contents
would be a great feature.
