Then every now and then the pen sensitivity seems to change and I find it hard to have nice writing. The writing is very sensitive creating lots of tails at the ends of letters and basically looking a mess. Does any one know what is going on? thanks

There is not really anything around it. If you use OneNote more than an hour a day, I HIGHLY recommend upgrading to 2007. The bug fixes make inking a dream. I can't imagine ever using 2003 again. erik

I've found at times when something else is taking up system resources, the Ink parser cannot keep up, and that causes the strange behavior you mention. Even though I've been using 2007 for a while now, ISTR there being a few Tablet PC related patches to be found on Windows Update which made this less likely.
