Write on a picture in OneNote
John 11/20/2008 3:31:01 PM
I'd like to write and draw on a picture in OneNote and then merge all the
"containers" so the writing is permanently part of the picture (and moves
with the picture when it is moved).

As a workaround I take a snapshot (windows key + s) of the altered picture,
then delete the original picture and markings and replace it with the
snapshot.. This is unnecessarily cumbersome.

I'd also like to do this with diagrams. These can be made up of a
bewildering jungle of containers which can easily get out of place within the
diagram. It would be nice to easily flatten it into a picture right there in
OneNote.

Thanks!

Grouping /anchoring is not implemented in ON.
Too bad.
This is one of the main drawbacks in ON 2007.
And I'm rather sure that issues would be the No. 1 request for the next
version.
But no one can help at present.

RightyRight!
But the best workaround available (except using SnagIt [the latest
version has fantastic new features] for producing a screen-shot and
commenting that).

I fully agree. But no chance at present.

You may post this as a suggestion for the next version in "Connect",

There isn't any way to do that presently (other than your workaround or
a few other workarounds I could probably come up with) but perhaps in a
future version.
