BCM 2007 - home page is empty
Robert (AAT) 3/20/2007 6:40:30 PM
When I select Business Contact manager from the drop down menu, I get a big
blue screen with 4 tabs. EAch of the tabs is empty.

Is there a way to restore this to what it is supposed to be?

Hi Robert

Could you provide more information about how you got to such state?

Thanks.

New install of Office Professional 2007 then followed by BCM 2007. It has
been like this from the start.

Hi Robert

I'm not sure how you can get into that state with a fresh install, but you
can try one of the following options and if any of them fixes your problem:

Option A: (Reloading BCM)
1. In the left pane, right click on the BCM folder > 'Close Business Contact
Manager'
2. Select the Help menu > Configure Business Contact Manager...
3. Select the Advanced option and go through the Wizard

Option B: (Restarting Outlook)
1. Close Outlook.
2. CTRL + ALT + DEL to pull up the Task Manager.
3. Select the Applications tab. Make sure Outlook.exe is not the list. If it
is, select it and click on End Task button.
4. Relaunch Outlook.

Thanks.

Regarding Option A:
tried it and I still have 4 empty tabs.

Regarding Option B:
tried it and I still have 4 empty tabs

Anything else?

Hi Robert

The 4 tabs not showing up properly is a sympton of your BCM addin not loaded
properly within Outlook. Are you seeing other folders (i.e. Accounts,
Business Contact, Opportunity)? You can access other folders by going to the
Business Contact Manager menu > (i.e. Business Contacts ...) If you are not
seeing other folders, it is likely that your BCM has been disabled. You can
re-enable BCM by clicking Help menu > Disabled Items. If BCM shows up in the
dialog, you can simply re-enable it.

Thanks

BCM is not disabled.
I can select any of the options from the BCM drop down menu in OL.

However, when I take the first option "Business Contact Manager Home ALT M",
then I get 4 empty tabs.

Hi Robert

Have you tried logging out from your user account or rebooting? If so, then
re-installing will be one of the last options.

You can also enable BCM logging by doing the following:
1. Select the Help menu > About Business Contact Manager
2. Select the 'Enable Logging for BCM' checkbox. Click OK
3. Repeat steps in which got you to the current BCM state
4. Click on Start > Run and enter %temp%. There will be a BCMLog_V3.log file.

You are welcome to send me the log file, and I can try to debug your problem.

Thanks.

OK, I have now uninstalled and re-installed BCM and I am still looking at 4
empty tabs.

What is next?

Robert,

Are you using matching language of Office and BCM (like English Office and
English BCM)? Are you using non-English version of OS? Is you system locale
or user locale non-English?
