I can't imagine the patience that would be required, not to mention the overload on the processor for that sort of application. The only reason for doing this would be having no other more suitable application, and I realize that this is the situation for many users. I'm lucky to have CorelDRAW if I wanted to put text on a curve (though I haven't done so in years).
