Downloading MS Office
"Troy_Filipek via OfficeKB.com" <u40467[ at ]uwe> 10/5/2008 6:59:13 AM
Hi all!

This is actually an Office 2007 question but seeing as there are no
categories here for just Office I have placed it here in the MS Word category.

I downloaded MS Home and Student Office Suite 2007 trial some time ago.
I subsequently bought the full version.
I need to reinstall it on a new PC.
Where can I re-download the files from?

I have no reference point anywhere in the emails I received when I bought the
product. On the MS website it says I have no purchase history (presumably
whatever cookies they gave me at the time have since disappeared).

Many thanks,

Troy Filipek

If you purchased the product, you would have had a product key number
supplied that would validate the product. If you cannot locate that number
download and run Belarc Advisor on the PC with the 2007 installation, which
will reveal the key (along with loads of other information about the
configuration of your PC). You *may* have to validate the installation on
the new PC manually.

As for the software, it would have been better to have bought a retail copy
with the disc, but you should be able to download the trial again -

Hi Graham. Thanks for the prompt reply.

I have the product download key stored. I had it in my mind that I needed to
download a particular file but you've helped me to realise that I simply
download the trial version as I did before and then use my key. I didn't
realise it was that simple. More fool me.

One issue .... I am in Japan and when I go to the site to download, the
Japanese page comes up. I downloaded my original trial version in April from
the English site but it won't redirect me this time.

I have tried changing language settings on my PC but to no avail. Perhaps
I've missed something.

Many thanks for any help.

Troy
