Hindi numerals for Insert Time and Date function
KR^ishhNamalaghnataH 5/14/2007 2:58:03 PM
Whenever I insert a time and date the pull-down menu gives me a choice based
upon the languages I have configured (in my case Hindi and Sanskrit). If I
select Hindi for example I get both the name of the month and the day of the
week in Hindi script, however it always gives Western style numerals instead
of the Devanagari numerals used for these languages. Is there a way for it to
display the numerals in Devanagari also?

My system: Vista Enterprise and Word 2007. It does the same thing on my
WinXP Pro machine and Word 2003 Professional.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions so I do not have to retype this
numerals everytime that I enter a date.

Yes. This is an issue. You will have to set the numerals as Devanagari in
the Control Panel > Regional and Langauge Settings. You will also have to
set the context as National to get the numerals in Devanagari. But this
setting will make the numerals to be in Devanagari in ALL
applications -Windows Explorer, IE, etc.
